“I see here the average is 4 or even 5 months. Our little one is only 3 and 3/4 months. I think we’ve got a special one here”

Edwin (32) and Sarah Hodge (31) have been married for many years. And after years of trying, they finally welcomed Little Olivia (3.75 months) into the world.
Olivia is a happy baby and, most importantly, a healthy one. So it is just a bonus to her parents that she also just happens to be a prodigy, having rolled over a couple of weeks early.
Edwin and Sarah were running through a few spelling cue cards with little Olivia, and decided to break it up with a tummy time workout. And that’s when it happened.
“I was an early walker and talker”, Sarah explained, “And so was Edwin. So Olivia comes from good stock. And we’ve read pretty much every parenting book ever written. So as soon as she rolled over, we knew it was a very significant moment.”
“I’m almost certain she’s the first roller in my mothers group. But there’s only one way to be sure. I’ll send a group chat message now. Actually I’d really like to send a video. Let’s see if she’ll do it again.”
And they mentioned that it is a timely reminder that they need to think about schools for Olivia. Sarah attended Ravensleigh Grammar, which requires enrolment from birth. She explained that they booked Olivia into Ravensleigh from the hospital.
“I certainly did. It’s a fine institution. And she’ll be there from year 7. But this latest rolling over development really means we should be thinking about a primary school that can accommodate her unique talents. I would certainly worry that the local primary school would not sufficiently challenge her.”
The search continues for an appropriate primary school, but none so far appear equipped to nurture Olivia’s clear potential.
Thankfully, they have a few years to figure it out.
