Jessica informed her husband that the one he just gave the rose to looks like that girl who dated Leonardo DiCaprio a few years ago. She’s just trying to google her but it’s hard because she can’t remember her name.
Jessica Ballian (28) is a reality TV junkie, who has convinced her husband to get on board the Bachelor and Survivor bandwagons, and pretty much any other reality TV catastrophe that comes along.
However, her husband Dion (28) informs us that she has an infuriating habit that does his head in. She has a Tourette’s-like need to make an announcement every time someone comes on the screen, in the form of a theory about who that person reminds her of.
Dion explains that he is completely baffled by the phenomenon.
“So she claims to like these shows. But I swear she doesn’t even catch a word anyone says. She spends the whole time trying to tell me who everyone looks like. And she’s always trying to google whoever the hell she's thinking of. Or giving me very vague descriptions like ‘that girl from uni’. It’s a bloody struggle.”
The latest theory that Jessica has spat out is even weirder than usual. She reckons that one of the guys on the Bachelorette looks like Geraldo Rivera. And last season she was positive that Brittany from the Bachelor allegedly reminded her of "a poor man's Jennifer Hawkins".
While her thousands of theories can get annoying, Dion admits that sometimes she is pretty apt with her judgments.
"Yeah look some of the likenesses are pretty good.Even a broken clock is right twice a day. But I don't get the whole obsession. Is there some benefit we get from having a theory about everyone on every show?"
However,if he were truly honest, Dion understands why she does it. A lot more than he lets on. Every now and then, he'll make a call on who someone looks like. And he admits it feels pretty good when Jessica agrees with him.
"Yeah I did point out that one of the Gogglebox guys looks a hell of a lot like Jessica's cousin. And she totally agreed with me. It is fun, but I just think we don't need to spend literally the whole show on these theories.
We put it to him that maybe he just gets annoyed because Jessica is a lot better at it than him. Dion politely terminated the interview at that point.
