“I don’t get it. He pulled over. I thanked him for the lift. We said see ya later to each other. I got out and closed the door. Surely there was nothing else to be communicated.”
Jake Opacic went out for an early dinner tonight with his mate Jesse Adams. Jesse was kind enough to swing round and pick Jake up, and then drop Jake home.
It was a good feed, and they talked a bit about their SuperCoach teams and whatnot.
However, it was when Jesse dropped Jake off that he performed a ritual that even Sir David Attenborough would have a tough time explaining.
After dropping Jake out the front of his house, Jesse proceeded to honk his horn in a prolonged fashion and drive off aggressively.
Jake explains that his mate Jesse is generally a very down-to-earth guy, who doesn't otherwise engage in a lot of try-hard behaviour.
“It’s bloody weird. We had a great feed, good banter, and he drops me home. I thank him for the lift, we say our goodbyes. I get out. As far as I’m concerned, we’re done. No more communication required.”
But according to Jake, Jesse must’ve felt there was one more important message to send.
“Apparently he needed to violently toot his horn as he basically did a burnout outside my house. It’s like he really wanted to just let my neighbours know that he dropped me off for some reason. And to let them know that I spend my time hanging out with obnoxious tools.”
Just what is it about dropping mates off that invokes this bizarre behaviour? We’re not sure. In fact, neither is the culprit.
“Not sure hey. It’s just a thing I do.”
