“I’m thinking of hanging around for a few bevvies this week like old times. You guys keen?”
Numbers at Freeman Accountants’ Friday after work drinks have dwindled for the best part of a year. People have tended to either rush home at 5 or only stay for one drink. But this week, they’re expecting a bigger turnout.
Since early in the week, whispers have abounded that this Friday’s drinks will be a big one. While some employees claim that it’s just because they’re “due” for a big one, others think the hot new employee may have played a role.
Micheal Stavros (24) has been made to feel very welcome since joining Freeman on Monday.
“Everyone’s been so nice and friendly”, the beautiful Adonis tells us.
“And I think they enjoy their social occasions. I’ve been asked like 50 times if I’m staying for drinks tomorrow. I actually have something on, but I kind of feel like I have to cancel and go to work drinks. It has a bit of a compulsory vibe.”
His coworker Leon (28) informs us that some of their colleagues have been acting a little funny since the underwear-model lookalike arrived.
“Yeah he’s obviously a good looking rooster. But man the chicks at work have gone properly mental. All of a sudden they’re all coming to drinks tomorrow. Do you know how many people came last week? Three. Including me and the boss.”
But Leon is happy that this strapping piece of man-meat has come along. He is of the view that his arrival has been good for morale.
“Even that bitch who always has her door closed is now swanning around the office socialising. Mostly outside Michael’s office. There’s a real buzz around the place. And I think tomorrow’s drinks will be massive.”
There might be some sore heads on Saturday.
