“He tries to be educational, and our kids absolutely love him. So, despite that annoying voice, he’s become pretty much part of our family. This does make us question things, that’s for sure. Especially the shitting on people thing.”

Stephen J Grossman, better known as Blippi, has created a wildly successful series of YouTube videos aimed at young kids.

Dressed in bright orange and blue, Blippi explores aquariums, playgrounds, ski fields, construction sites and various other places with an engaging child-like wonder and enthusiasm.

Kids love him, and virtually every toddler will go through a "Blippi Stage". His presence on the TV or phone is so common that many parents think of him as a family member. A family member who is as annoying as Jar Jar Binks.

However, that welcoming attitude of parents tends to be tested when they dig a little deeper. This is because Blippi is not Grossman’s first attempt at becoming famous.

We caught up with Elise Chan, fresh from making that discovery.

“Check this out. Blippi used to call himself Steezy Grossman. I was looking into Blippi and read this thing about how Grossman defecated on his friend on video. So anyway I Googled it. Defecating means shitting! He shat on his friend, filmed it and uploaded it in an attempt to go viral. What the actual?!”

She is absolutely right. Grossman even created an elaborate backstory for the Steezy character. Steezy was explained by Grossman as a character that was "born as a poop after his parents had anal sex".

It's good stuff.

Elise now questions whether she had made a mistake letting Grossman into her home.

“Look. I don’t expect Blippi to pull down his pants during an episode and take a dump on one of the kids. But I dunno. I just feel the need to wash the screen after he’s on. You know what I mean?”

So the only question left is whether those videos are still available. On that front, it appears that Grossman has employed every legal means available to restrict access to the videos. He is of the view that the gross-out videos don’t match that well with his current Blippi persona.

Yeah he might be right there.
