“It all happened so quickly. I hope all the missing children are reunited with their parents one day.”
The Neglectarino Hotel is one of those pubs with a massive play area for kids. There’s a soft play area for babies and young toddlers, and a massive area with big slides and climbing equipment for the older kids.
Last week, Lewis Chang took his wife and two kids to the Neglectarino. He took off their shoes, and opened the gate to the enclosed kids area to let them in.
In the two seconds he had the gate open, at least ten or twenty little ones escaped the baby prison.
Lewis is concerned about the welfare of those kids.
“I do worry about those kids. I'm sure they are missed dearly by their loved ones. Their parents would’ve chosen that pub solely for the enclosed baby prison. They would’ve locked them in there, and enjoyed a few minutes of peace and maybe a disgusting meal. They would have expected their kids to be in there when they got back. I feel like a criminal.”
Lewis just wants to know that those kids were reunited with their parents, or at least some of them.
“Obviously, they’re not all going to be accounted for. But I just hope at least a few of them returned to their parents. That would lift my spirits.”
Karen Grant, mother of one of the missing kids, was pretty calm about the whole thing.
“Look, we know the risk when we drop them in there. But our philosophy is simple. If your child is capable of escaping baby prison, then they’re probably ready to fend for themselves in the outside world.”
