Nine Network Appoints Karl Stefanovic as Fifth Judge On The Voice

"The decision was made after executives were informed that they had inadvertently aired a show that had literally zero KS goodness. The oversight has now been rectified, and the parties responsible have been fired."

Karl Stefanovic's private life was the subject of intense media scrutiny in 2018, and he was dumped as Today show host late that year. A few days later, his brother Peter also left the network.

While it was clear that there would be a dire lack of Stefanovic goodness on the network in the short-term, they had a plan. A simple plan. During his absence, they would tally all the hours of hosting that he missed during his absence. Then, when he eventually came back, they would make up for lost time by having him host or participate in literally every show the network offers.

It has been working well. He's back hosting the Today show. He's hosting A Current Affair during the riots. He's randomly popping up on footy-related shows left, right and centre for no good reason. He's showing up on lifestyle shows, animal shows, kids shows, adult shows and everything in between. Including obnoxious "in it together" television ads.

Another tactic has been to situate him in close physical proximity to the biggest fuckwits they can find, so that the viewer can bask in his comparative decentness. They even flew him to the United States to sit down with the ultimate fuckwit, Kyle Sandilands, for that very purpose.

However, one show has until now languished entirely Stefanovic-free.

The Voice.

Delta Goodrem explains how stoked she is that the omission has finally been rectified.

"The show's been alright from a technical perspective. Better than most seasons actually. Some decent singers. Good production values. All that sort of stuff has been good. But we felt we were missing something. Call it the X Factor. Actually don't. That show is even worse than ours. Let's just say it was missing that sprinkling of Nine Network fairy dust. And now, with Karl onboard, we're back. I'm looking forward to my first duet with the big fella tonight."

It is also understood that the Renaissance Man will not only be a judge, but he will also host the show and conduct all of the backstage interviews.

He will also work a few of the cameras and conduct soundchecks and audience warm-ups, as he does for each show on the Network.
